The 1-Minute Plot Drill
Theme: A Mischievous Act Format: Look at the 3 pictures. You have 60 seconds to answer these 3 questions before you start writing.
Q1: Which picture(s) are you choosing to build your story around?
The Strategy: The smartest approach is to choose Picture 1 as the core action, and use Picture 2 and Picture 3 as the setting and consequence to complete a tight “Guilt & Consequence” arc.
Q2: What is your emotional and situational Climax?
The Setup: The prank backfires horribly. The victim doesn’t just get startled; they suffer a severe panic attack, trip backwards, knock over a heavy shelf, or hit their head on a desk.
The Turning Point: Instead of laughing, the classroom goes dead silent. The student is instantly consumed by cold terror and guilt as the teacher yells, “Go down to the General Office immediately!”
Q3: How does the character change by the end (The Resolution)?
The Consequence: Standing in the quiet General Office (Picture 2), staring at the disciplinary cane (Picture 3) lying on the principal’s desk. The wait is agonizing—sweaty palms, trembling knees.
The Lesson: Even after facing the punishment (whether it’s a suspension, detention, or caning) and apologizing to the victim, the true scar is the broken trust. The character vows never to compromise someone else’s safety for a cheap laugh again.
