Imagine you are Mei Ling, the Head Prefect of the school.
Write a formal email to your School Principal to propose a new student initiative to solve the problem of food waste in the canteen. Refer closely to the information panel and the conversation on the previous page to write your email.
In your email, you must include the following information:
the purpose of your email
two reasons why food waste in the canteen is a serious problem
how the campaign will raise awareness among the students
how the implementation plan for the class competition will work
what your ultimate goal is for the school
Writing Guidelines for Students:
Tone: Since you are writing to the School Principal, use a formal, respectful, and persuasive tone.
Format: Remember to include a clear subject line, a formal salutation (e.g., Dear Principal,), and a proper sign-off (e.g., Yours sincerely, Mei Ling, Head Prefect).
Language: Write in complete sentences and ensure your grammar, spelling, and paragraphing are well-organized.
