The moment the heavy glass doors of the Science Centre slid open, a wave of excitement washed over the students. They had been looking forward to the robotics exhibition all term. In the main hall, a dazzling display of modern technology awaited them.
“Look at that!” exclaimed Jayze enthusiastically. A sleek, metallic robot dog was expertly manoeuvring through a complex obstacle course. It leaped over hurdles and crawled under low barriers with surprising agility.
Nearby, a few children watched in awe as a humanoid robot answered questions from the curious crowd. Its voice sounded incredibly lifelike. Mr Tan, their teacher, smiled at their fascinated expressions.
“Artificial intelligence is certainly the future,” he explained, gesturing to the exhibits. “Who knows? One day, some of you might be the brilliant engineers designing these amazing machines.”

Question 1: Look at the picture. Would you like to participate in this robotics activity?
Opinion (O): Yes, I would love to participate in this robotics activity.
Reason (R): It looks very engaging and it is a hands-on way to learn how machines work.
Example (E): For example, the students in the picture are using a tablet to control a robot car on a track, which is much more exciting than just reading a textbook.
Opinion (O): Therefore, I would definitely want to join in and try coding the robot myself.
Question 2: Tell me about a time you visited an interesting place with your school or family.
Opinion (O): I remember a fascinating trip to the Science Centre last year with my family.
Reason (R): It was memorable because there were many interactive exhibits that captured my attention.
Example (E): One specific example was a giant kinetic ball machine where I had to pull levers and turn wheels to keep the heavy balls moving along a track.
Opinion (O): In conclusion, that visit was extremely interesting and I learnt a lot through playing.
Question 3: Do you think it is important for children to learn about technology and robots?
Opinion (O): Yes, I strongly believe it is very important for children to learn about technology.
Reason (R): The world is advancing quickly, and we will need these digital skills for our future jobs and daily lives.
Example (E): For instance, we already use artificial intelligence in our smartphones, and robots are starting to help out in hospitals and restaurants.
Opinion (O): That is why having a good understanding of technology is essential for all children today.
